Abstract
- Abstract: Silver vanadium oxide (SVO, Ag0.33V2O5) was synthesized in solid-state reactions from silver nitrite (AgNO3) and the sol–gel prepared vanadyl citrate (VO(C6H6O7)). The formation mechanism of Ag0.33V2O5 was elucidated by thermal gravimetric analysis (TG) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) methods. The formation of Ag0.33V2O5 went through two step decomposition and combination processes. The morphology and the crystallinity of the calcination products were largely temperature dependent. The electrochemical performance of Ag0.33V2O5 cathode material was superior to many other silver vanadium oxides, which were attributed to their nanosized particles and the good structural reversibility upon cycling.
