Abstract
- The authors reflect on the role of tissue necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-Alpha) and targeting its receptor in ischemic heart disease. They state that elevated concentration of TNF-alpha, which is produced by macrophages and lymphocytes, affects the patients of ischemic heart disease, acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and decompensate heart failure. They also state that TNF-alpha antagonism is beneficial in AMI patients with increasing platelet activation and absence of vasodilatation.
