Abstract
- Highlights: [•] A sound FSW joint of rolled SiCp/AA2009-T351 sheet was achieved. [•] Precipitation sequences of phases varied in different regions of the joint. [•] Coarsening of precipitates and reduction of dislocation density occurred in HAZ. [•] HAZ had the lowest hardness and strength with the fracture occurring in this zone.
