Abstract

Highlights: [•] An amorphized composite, Sb/Al2O3/C, is simply prepared by a straightforward mechanochemical reduction method. [•] Various analytical tools reveal that the composite is composed of amorphized Sb, amorphous Al2O3, and carbon. [•] The amorphized composite is investigated for use as an anode material for rechargeable Li-ion batteries. [•] The composite electrode shows a high energy density of more than 1800mAhcm−3 over 300 cycles. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
