Abstract

Highlights: [•] Bamboo culm was autohydrolyzed to generate xylo-oligosaccharides. [•] The maximum recovery of xylo-oligosaccharides of 47.49% was achieved at 180°C for 30min. [•] The yield and characteristic of xylo-oligosaccharides depend on the autohydrolysis condition. [•] Higher temperature and/or longer reaction time enhance the degradation rate of xylan.
