Abstract

Highlights: [•] Sugarcane molasses constituents effectively scavenge AAPH-induced peroxyl radicals. [•] Antioxidative fractions were evaluated via chemical, cellular, and DNA approaches. [•] The range of ORAC value is 4399–6266μmol TE/g, and EC50 for CAA is 3.7–5.9μg/ml. [•] Two fractions protect against oxidative DNA damage as potent as gallic acid. [•] Phenolic constituents were identified in the sugarcane molasses fractions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
