Endovascular Treatment for Acute Ischemic Stroke.

The article discusses a study which investigated the effectiveness of endovascular treatment, including the options of a mechanical device and intraarterial tissue plasminogen activator (t-PA) in patients with acute ischemic stroke, than the currently available treatment with intravenous t-PA. The results of the study indicate that endovascular therapy is not superior to standard treatment with intravenous t-PA.
