Abstract

The article presents the author's opinions regarding the experiences of North Korean refugees who are now hiding in China. Nobody knows how many North Koreans have tried to escape from the regime of dictator Kim Jong Il, but some estimates put the number of North Korean refugees in China as high as 300,000. Very few of these refugees have made it out of both North Korea and China. The experiences of survivors of North Korean prison camps rival the stories from Nazi concentration camps. Most North Korean refugees live in constant fear of discovery, knowing that they could spend the rest of their days as slave laborers.
