Abstract

The author presents a criticism of dialetheist readings of Madhyamaka based on the philosophy of Tibetan scholar Gorampa Sonam Senge, in relation to the article "The Way of the Dialetheist: Contradictions in Buddhism," by Yasuo Deguchi, Jay Garfield, and Graham Priest. The author believes that Garampa distinguishes between twofold contradictions (dilemma) and fourfold contradictions (tetralemma). The author also argues that parameterization is required for twofold contradictions.
