Point Load Test on Meta-Sedimentary Rocks and Correlation to UCS and BTS.

The article presents a study which investigates the strength of rocks by the use of point load test on meta-sedimentary rocks and its correlation to Uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) and Brazilian tensile strength (BTS). The study involves several methods including the Point Load Test Methods, coring of rocks, and the correlation. The study reveals that most of the rock specimens tested fail in typical tensile splitting failure modes under the point load test.
