Abstract
- Inone of our previous studies, several experimental measurementswere carried out on a thermal swing adsorption (TSA) process (adsorptionand desorption steps) used for the capture of CO2froma CO2/N2mixture. The present study deals witha two-dimensional modeling and simulation of the aforementioned TSAprocess. The models are described by partial differential equations(PDEs) including conservation equations, models for equation of state, equilibrium, thermodynamic, and transport properties. The resultingmodels involve different unknown parameters to be estimated from theavailable experimental measurements. An estimability analysis wascarried out in order to determine which parameters are able to beestimated from the available experimental results. The most estimableparameters are then identified, and the less estimable parametersare fixed from previous works or from literature. The resulting modelsare implemented and solved within Comsol Multiphysics software. Theresults show that the model predictions fit quite well with the experimentalresults. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
