Abstract: The reasons for the He supply crisis developed in the global market toward the year 2009 are discussed. The isotope demand structure is provided. Possible measures to overcome the crisis are reviewed. Primary attention is focused on development of new technologies, particularly pertaining to neutron detection methods and alternative MRT He contrasting agents.
