The article reports on the official shows and sales staged by four beef breeds at Carlisle in 2013. The beef breeds include Beef Shorthorn, Hereford, South Devon and Salers. Farmers W. and A. Aitken bought Rigel Rome, a son of the imported bull Amazonien and out of a cow by the influential sire Bruno. Wells Edward was the bull leader and the reserve champion, owned by herd owner John Wood.
