Abstract: The article offers information on advancements in the retina field discussed at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) 2013 meeting. It mentions that Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the first implanted device to treat adults with advanced retinal prosthesis (RP). The role of Eylea for the treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is presented and the contribution of genetic risk factors for AMD are also evaluated.
