Abstract: The authors discuss the problems and barriers associated with medication nonadherence and state that despite the widespread prevalence and cost of medication nonadherence, it is undetected in different health care settings. The author also state that most clinicians do not have proper training for screening medication nonadherence. The author further state that there is a strong demand for improving the quality of care delivered, including medication adherence.
