Abstract
- The article presents the author's response to comments on his article on the soil water retention characteristics of vertisols and pedotransfer functions published in the February 2012 issue. He explains how positive potential created by the overburden of water retained in the swelled portion was calculated. The author also discusses soil porosity and the determination of soil water retention characteristics (SWRCs).
