Abstract
- The author, the humanities dean from Cooper Union, discusses the relationship between scholarly authors and readers, print versus electronic publishing, and the role of the Internet in scholarly publishing in 2013. Online book marketing, Internet retailer Amazon, and reader psychology are discussed, as well as information overload, the role of academic publishing in scholarly discourse, and academic criticism. The revision of dissertations for publication as books, scholarly thesis, and discussion based teaching methods are also discussed.
