Abstract

A seriesof five-membered N-heterocyclic carbene C,S palladium(II)π-allyl complexes weresuccessfully developed and characterized. Structural analyses of thesecomplexes revealed that the organopalladium chelates adopt a skew-envelopeconformation with a transdisposition of the substituentson the metal chelate rings. Utilizing these C,S palladium(II) π-allylcomplexes as catalysts, a catalytic system for the allylic aminationreaction has been developed. A series of C–N bond formationsbetween amines and unsymmetrically substituted allylic carbonatescould be catalyzed efficiently by complex (±)-9ina regioselective manner. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
