Abstract
- The article reports on research conducted to investigate the acute effects fluid intake had on specific gravity and fluid retention in a mildly dehydrated state in 10 recreational athletes. They found that mildly dehydrated subjects could reach euhydration within 45 minutes of the ingestion of 600 milileters of water or a combination of salt and carbohydrate-electrolyte solution.
