Abstract

The authors reflects on the potential relationship between migraine and dementia. They state that cognitive disturbance has been observed in all phases of a migraine attack. Migraine-related cognitive impairment is assumed to be secondary to reversible physiological disruptions. The pervasive nature of chronic migraine (CM) has already been suggested in the increased frequency of comorbidities associated with migraine chronification also, migraine has been considered a vascular disease.
