Blanket Statements.

The article offers information on the history and tradition of weaving among Navajo Indians in North America. Particular focus is given to intent behind blankets and rugs woven by members of the tribe. Additional topics discussed include the June 2012 sale of a woven chief's blanket from approximately 1850, how many of the woven items produced in the 19th and 20th century were intended for an Anglo market and details relating to the collecting of Navajo weavings in the early-21st-century.
