Abstract

The article describes the developments in corneal inlay as a treatment for presbyopia. A summary of a three-year study using Kamra corneal inlay to 32 patients is discussed. In undergoing corneal inlay on their nondominant eye, presbyopic patients were able to gain about 2.5 D of depth of field with little effect on their distance vision. The inlay is said to be based on the idea of small-aperture optics.
