Abstract
- The article discusses a geological phenomenon, called slow slip, in which two sides of a geologic fault shift the same amount as a large quake, but over a longer period of time. Topics include research by geophysicist Herb Dragert and colleagues who observed slow slip at Albert Head on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, the geology of Albert Head, and how slow slip, which is usually accompanied by tremors, help scientists explaining where all the motion of the subducting plate goes.
