SECURITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION 2071 ON A POSSIBLE INTERNATIONAL MILITARY DEPLOYMENT TO SUPPORT MALIAN ARMED FORCES.

The article provides a reprint of the United Nations' (UNs') Security Council Resolution 2071 adopted on October 12, 2012, which is in regard to international intervention in support of the Malian armed forces. Topics, including the terrorist group Al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb's (AQIM's) alleged presence in the Sahel and support for the Economic Community of West African States' (ECOWAS') possible deployment of troops to assist the Malian armed forces, are discussed.
