Abstract
- The author disputes the claim by some scientists the climate change is reaching a tipping point of permanent ecological alteration of Earth. He argues that human-induced local and regional ecosystem changes will not cause uniform changes to the entire biosphere, noting that the response to external environmental pressures is not the same across different ecosystems around the world. He argues that the idea of a global tipping point also has a negative impact on climate and ecological policies.
