Abstract

The article presents information on the strategies for pasteurization of milk that faced serious controversies in the U.S. It informs that as the pathogens could be transmitted through air, water, or even a moment's direct physical contact, milk, as a phenomenally rich medium, required the strictest possible handling at all stages. It further informs that the child mortality in cities of the U.S. declined during the pasteurization controversy.
