Abstract
- The author compares the short ghost story "Oh, Whistle, and I'll Come to You, My Lad" by M. R. James and the music album "On Land" by musician Brian Eno, which he claims were inspired by the coast of Suffolk county in England, which also inspired his audio essay "On Vanishing Land" with sound artist Justin Barton. Television adaptations of James' stories by directors Jonathan Miller and and Lawrence Gordon are discussed, as well as location scouting for filming.
