Abstract
- The article focuses on the Vancouver Writers Fest held at Granville Island in British Columbia in October 2012. According to artistic director Hal Wake, the event is aimed at encouraging direct engagement between writers and their readers. The fest provides an opportunity for Americans to see Canadian literature and literary culture. It is the brainchild of Alma Lee, who was able to put up an event featuring writers like Margaret Atwood.
