Abstract
- This paper presents a study of how researchers conceptualize, or give meaning to the term visualization on the research in mathematics education. The aim is to map and classify trends in Brazilian research on the visualization. For this purpose, we considered the papers presented at the National Meeting of Mathematics Education (ENEM). Finally, we emphasize that a new theoretical tendency has been argued to deconstruct the founding principles on which was built the concept of vision and perception, and also to promote a new theoretical approach to the research on mathematical visualization.
