The article focuses on SPARK Award projects funded by the Materials KTN's powders sector. A die filling and tooling design concepts were developed by Magnet Applications Ltd. and Powder Pressing Tools Ltd. Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors were manufactured by Syfer Technology Ltd. for the automotive, medial and defence sectors. A study for Bodycote Metallurgical Coatings Ltd. found that thermal spraying techniques are key to the development of low cost manufacturing solutions.
