Abstract
- Two phases of Ni(OH)2 viz., α-Ni(OH)2 and β-Ni(OH)2 were prepared by hydrothermal-assisted polyol process. The structural and magnetic properties are studied by employing X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy and vibrating sample magnetometer in the temperature range 20-300K. Both the phases show polycrystalline nature exhibiting hexagonal structure. FESEM of both phases exhibit 3D flower like morphology with nanosheets of thickness 30-60 nm. When temperature decreases from higher (300 K) to lower (20 K) both α-Ni(OH)2 and β-Ni(OH)2 systems undergo a paramagnetic to ferromagnetic transition. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
