Abstract

The article describes the causes of paravulvar leak (PVL) after transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). It mentions that it is not surprising to anticipate a higher frequency of PVL in TAVR due to the risks of prosthesis' inappropriate sizing and the interference of the old calcified valve. A study revealed that patients having aortic annulus <22 millimeter (mm) by echocardiography do not have moderate-severe PVL after TAVR.
