Villous Adenoma of the Appendix: Management Recommendations.

The article presents a case study in which a 37-year-old white man is diagnosed with villous adenoma in the appendix. The article notes computed tomography (CT) scans showed a cystic mass and appendix wall calcifications so the patient was treated with oral antibiotics. It also notes the patient returned three weeks later with symptoms of appendicitis and an appendectomy and partial cecal resection was performed. Screening colonoscopies are recommended to detect carcinoma.
