Abstract
- The article considers the issue of gender-genre-modernism in terms of characteristic attention to detail and to things or objects in narrative. Topics addressed include the relationship between subject, object, space and time in terms of the trope of death which is a feminist modernist device and the use of metaphor by feminist modernist fiction to negotiate the space for the writing of another point of view.
