Abstract

The article discusses the influence of entrapped air pockets on the water pipeline with hydraulic transients. It says that a simplified model has been proposed to create the pressure variations on pipeline that contains an entrapped air pocket. It states that short water column near the air-water interface results on liquid inertia and energy loss. It adds that the result shows that the proposed model accurately predicts peak pressures.
