Abstract

Presents a study which shows that the Drosophila HMG1-like protein DSP1 and its mammalian homolog hHMG2 interacts with SP100B, a splice variant of SP100A, and that SP100B in turn binds to human homologs of HP1. Ability of DSP1 to inhibit the transcriptional activating function of Dorsal in a promoter-specific fashion in yeast; Information on the Drosophila protein.
