Abstract

Postmodernism which has started to take place in Turkish Literature since 1985 yet still not thoroughly understood, comes out within the context of narration in form of fiction. There are numerous examples written accordingly in our literature. However, these examples hardly convey all the characteristics of post-modernist approach. In this regard, one of the remarkable artists, Hilmi Yavuz (1936), who is interested in many kinds of literary genre such as narrations, essays, articles, anecdotes etc. yet mostly known as a poet, stands out. The narratives named Taormina(1990), The curious adventures of Fehmi K(1991) and The Well (Kuyu) (1994), which were written by the poet using postmodern techniques, are among the most successful examples in the field with resgard to technical and contextual features. In the present article, the technical, contextual and material components in the works of the poet mentioned above are to be addressed within the frame of post-modernist narrative. By this way, the orientation of narrative writing of Yavuz is to be emphasized. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
