The article focuses on the experiences of archaeology students who have volunteered at archeological excavations in Israel and Jordan. The article discusses what volunteers learn at their dig sites including field techniques, the relationships the volunteers form with eachother and the discovery of pavement mosaics at Huqoq by volunteer Bryan Bozung. The article discusses different locations in which volunteers have dug, including Jerusalem, Masada and Megiddo.
