Abstract
- A theoretical investigation on the parabolic pulse nonlinear propagation and spectral compression in all-normal dispersion photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) is presented. It is found that use of larger chirp can obtain higher quality transform-limited spectrally compressed parabolic pulses due to almost purely the effects of self-phase modulation (SPM) - because of its all-normal dispersion with smaller group velocity dispersion (GVD). Also, use of long initial negatively chirped parabolic pulses can lead to the most efficient transform-limited spectral compression under the optimal compression condition. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
