Role of data mining in establishing strategic policies for the efficient management of healthcare system - a case study from Washington DC area using retrospective discharge data.

The article presents a study which investigates some factors that increase the rate of live birth and pregnancies and decrease the rate of abortion in Washington, D.C. The study used qualitative approach, data mining, and clustering and statistical techniques. Results show that the cost of abortion is the main cause why live births are increasing.
