Abstract
- This paper studies the transport critical current density in a superconducting cylinder with a hole and a superconducting elliptic cylinder. Based on the Maxwell's equation, the critical current densities are obtained with numerical method for different cross sections. In order to determine the main features of different cross sections, the average critical current density and magnetic field are considered. It is shown that the average critical current density is affected by the geometry and size of the cross section. The average critical current density is a monotonic function of the radius in the superconducting cylinder with a hole. However, the average critical current density in the superconducting elliptic cylinder decreases with major axis first and then increases. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
