Abstract: The article discusses the progress related to the Antarctic Mesoscale Prediction System (AMPS) since it was launched in 2000. It explains that AMPS is a real-time numerical weather prediction system for Antarctica that uses the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model. It highlights the evolution in the role of AMPS to support the logistical and biological needs of international users.
