Abstract
- The article discusses the evidence base for reversibility testing and its limitations as well as the possible ways forward to allow accurate diagnosing of asthma. It refers to reversibility as an objective and quantifiable measure that can help confirm the presence of variable airflow limitation. While reversibility testing can help confirm the presence of asthma, it should always be used in conjunction with a full assessment of symptoms, personal and family history and clinical examination.
