Abstract: The article covers lawsuits between financial firms and the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), which regulates electricity markets. Particular attention is given to firms such as Deutsche Bank AG, J.P. Morgan Chase and Co., and Barclays PLC, which have all faced allegations of market manipulation. Information is provided on the FERC's authority to impose fines and the financial firms' attempts to defend their practices.
