Abstract
- The article presents the soundscapes of disaster and humanitarianism following the earthquake which hit Haiti on January 12, 2010. It mentions the holding of survival singing and relief telethons in order to raise money for disaster relief. The author stresses the key role played by mass media in the history of humanitarianism.
