Abstract
- Current common Presentation System (PS) models are slide based oriented and lack synchronization analysis either with temporal or spatial constraints. Such models, in fact, tend to lead to synchronization problems, particularly on parallel synchronization with spatial constraints between multimedia element presentations. However, parallel synchronization can be properly applied in non-slide based presentation rather than in slide based. This paper presents a novel model of SMIL-driven PS which is able to perform both slide and non-slide based presentations. This novel model of PS has been developed based on the characteristics derived from the unification of characteristics of common PS models and SMIL specifications. By such concept makes the PS has synchronization models i.e. parallel and sequential synchronization with temporal and spatial constraints. Also it has ability to separate between presenter''s and audiences'' views. Thus, to prove and to evaluate our SMIL-driven PS model, we applied the new PS in real world using scenario based approach. Finally, we have a PS that is able to perform both hybrid slide and non-slide based presentation since it has robust synchronization models that support temporal and spatial constraints.
