Abstract
- A reprint of the essay "The Lessons of Angola: An Eyewitness Report," by James Garrett, which appeared in the June 1976 issue of "Black Scholar," is presented. The article discusses the Angolan Revolution from 1961 to 1975, focusing on Angolan people's resistance to Portuguese colonialism. Topics discussed include the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) liberation movement, a military coup in Portugal in 1974, and African-American reactions to the revolution.
