Abstract
- The article reports on the legal issues concerning the use of religious banners during football game in Texas. It cites the case of football team of Kountze High School in which cheerleaders carried religious banners, saying that the banners are form of free speech and religious expression protected by the Texas Constitution and Texas statutes. However, under a 2000 Supreme Court ruling in a Texas case, any kind of religious display at a public school event violate the First Amendment.
