COMPETIÇÃO JUSTA? A RELAÇÃO ENTRE DESEMPENHO NO VESTIBULAR E O PERFIL SOCIOECONÔMICO.

Recently, the vestibular examination was changed, some universities have replaced their independent examinations for a unified, the new Enem. However, this change in the method of selection does not change the fact that the selection will still be made based on the results of a test. Thus, it can be said that the selection process is based on the assumption that that higher scores of the candidates, implies that they're more apt to higher education. Because of it, to know what factors affect the performance of candidates is important not only for them, but also for society as a whole. This subject proved so important that it is easy to identify certain preconceptions about it, especially about how the socio-economic characteristics affect the performance. Therefore, this paper aims to statistically analyze the relationship between socio-economic profile of the candidates and their performance in the vestibular of winter 2008 and summer 2009 of UFMS.
