Abstract

The objective of the article is to explore some identity narratives about Latin America constructed upon the Latin-American moves of migrants living in Barcelona, Spain, and Porto Alegre, Brazil. We seek to understand how plural modes of living the Latin-American identity by migrants allow the observation of some characteristics in the social uses of the internet. In the empirical investigation, from an ethnographic perspective, we noticed that part of the Latin-American living related to the uses of the internet occurs by cultural production and consumption. The diversity of websites with reference to national identities and to Latin America can also be understood as a manifestation of the meaning of being Latin-American which is experienced as a transnational living.
